Online and offline eyewear retailer Lenskart has appointed Suruchi Maitra as their new chief human resource officer. The company has roped this industry veteran to lead their people business.

Suruchi Maitra comes with more than twenty years of experience in the industry. Maitra is excited for her new journey with Lenskart. She feels the company is in a high growth phase.

She said, “Given the dynamic environment, HR needs to transform continually and partner business in every way. My focus is to deepen an already consumer-focused business with the employee at the center, deepen the culture of empowerment, initiative, transparency, ownership through the values of Startup energy, fall harder, 10x to think and customer obsession. Help grow the talent and leadership for scale.”

Before joining Lenskart, she was working with UnitedLex Corporation as VP, HR. At UnitedLex she was overseeing human resources across multiple legal entities in the Asia Pacific region.

Suruchi Maitra has worked with different organizations in the past such as IBM, Exclusively. In, and Menarini Raunaq Pharma.

To consolidate its market presence, the eyewear company is making senior-level appointments from the last couple of years. The company is also expanding its footprint in non-metro cities with their exclusive offline stores.

Suruchi is graduated in Philosophy from Miranda House (Delhi University) and completed her MBA in HR from Maharishi University of Management, Iowa. She also studied Strategic Human Resource Practices (e-course) from Cornell University.
