Ezetap names Byas Nambisan as new CEO

Digital payments company Ezetap has named Byas Nambisan as its new chief executive officer after its founder CEO Abhijit Bose left to join WhatsApp as its India head last November.

Byas had been the interim CEO at Ezetap since November 2018, while the board headed by Ashish Gupta scouted for an ideal candidate.

On his appointment, Byas stated, “I am looking forward to leading the company into break even soon and also chart new territories in the global fintech narrative – both geographically and technology wise.”

Byas, who has been the Chief Financial Officer at Ezetap since 2014 has been among one of the key members of the top leadership team at the payments company. He had spent 20 years at Intel Corporation and had taken up the role of CFO at Intel India. 

An alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University, Byas has spent 20 years at Intel Corporation and had taken up the role of CFO at Intel India.

In its last funding round in August 2017, the company had raised $16 Mn from US-based VC fund JS Capital Management, with participation from existing investors Social Capital and Horizons Ventures for sales and marketing and bolstering its enterprise solutions.
