Manoj Kohli becomes SoftBank India head

With more than 40 years of experience, the former Bharti Airtel executive has joined SoftBank India as its Country Head.
Manoj Kohli becomes SoftBank India head

After a five-year stint as the chairman of SB Energy, a Japanese telecom and investment giant’s renewable energy business arm, Manoj Kohli has been appointed as the SoftBank India’s country head. 

Kohli will be incharge of government relations and public policy efforts in addition to supporting SoftBank, SoftBank Vision Fund, and the banking giant’s portfolio companies’ interests in India. As a part of his role as the country head, he will work with portfolio company founders and CEOs in order to help them navigate through the government and policy issues and help secure required approvals in order to empower the companies to run their operations seamlessly and realize their true potential. 

Previously, Kohli has worked with Bharti Airtel as an executive, was Head of International Operations and has worked with firms such as DCM Shriram and Escotel before joining SoftBank. 

Raman Nanda, who has been with SoftBank since 2011, is heading SB Energy Global. In other major leadership changes at SoftBank, Vikas Agnihotri, who was Google India’s interim country head, has been appointed as the first operating partner in India for SoftBank’s Vision Fund. Another hire was Sumer Juneja, former Norwest Venture Partners’ executive, who was hired to head India investments with SoftBank’s Vision Fund.
