SBI gets new Managing Director

Before this elevation, she was working with the bank as Deputy Managing Director. Currently, the State Bank of India has four Managing Directors including Kant.
SBI gets new Managing Director
 

The Central government has appointed Anshula Kant as the new Managing Director for State Bank of India. Her appointment comes with immediate effect. Announcing her elevation, in a stock exchange filing, the bank said, “The central government appoints Anshula Kant as Managing Director of the State Bank of India with effect from the date of her taking over charge of the post and till the date of her attaining the age of superannuation, i.e., 30.09.2020, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Before this elevation, she was working with the bank as Deputy Managing Director. Currently, the State Bank of India has four Managing Directors including Kant. She is an Economic Honors graduate from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, and she did her post-Graduate in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.

In 1983, Kant joined State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer. Over a career span of three decades with the bank, she has handled key assignments and has gained experience in Retail Banking, Corporate Credit, Cross-Border Trade and Banking in Developed Markets - both retail and wholesale.

She has worked with the bank in different roles such as Chief General Manager, Deputy Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, and others.
