upGrad bolsters HR team with key appointments

The HR leadership changes at upGrad are aimed at strengthening its domestic presence while ensuring it remains a people-first organisation.
upGrad bolsters HR team with key appointments

upGrad has announced the appointment of Shailesh Mahale as the Head of HR - Corporate and Kumar Anshu as the Head of Human Resources for Working Professionals, Study Abroad, and the offline segment. Additionally, the edtech company has also announced the promotion of Vandana Kaushik Goel as the Head of Human Resources of upGrad for Business.

In his new role, Shailesh brings over 18 years of experience across e-commerce, banking, consulting, and manufacturing sectors. Currently, he serves as the Director of HR Ops, Admin, and EHS at Zepto. Previously, he held positions at HDFC Life as Senior Manager of Human Resources and Tata Consultancy Services as HR Manager. He also gained experience at Dow and Integreon Managed Solutions Ltd. early in his career.

On the other hand, Kumar brings more than 16 years of HR leadership experience across IT consulting, manufacturing, e-marketplace, and management consulting sectors. He most recently served as the Global Head of Organisational Effectiveness and Workforce Planning at Olx Group. Prior to that, he held roles at E&Y, Siemens, Tata Steel, and Wipro Technologies.

The newly promoted HR Head for upGrad's Business, Vandana, brings around 17 years of experience. She joined the edtech company in 2022 as the Head of Business HR for the Centum Learning platform and was promoted to the Head of HR position last year. In her previous roles, she worked with NIIT Limited, HCL Talentcare, Fidelity National Information Services, and Genpact.
