Madhusudan will replace, Al Rajwani, Managing Director of the company who will be retiring from the organization effective August 31, 2018, after 37 years of service with Procter & Gamble.

"Madhusudan Gopalan will be succeeding  Al Rajwani and is proposed to be appointed as the Managing Director of the Company, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of the Company," said P&G in a statement.

Madhusudan Gopalan is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta who joined Procter & Gamble in the Sales team straight from campus in 1999. He has more than 18 years of experience working for the company across business units and diverse geographies like India, US, and ASEAN countries. Madhusudan currently is leading the P&G business in Indonesia where he has led strong sales growth, share turn around, strong value creation and cash productivity.

The FMCG company has seen a tremendous growth under the leadership of AI Rajwania and got featured among the country's top 100 best companies for women by a US-based firm Working Mothers Media in November last year.

It'll be interesting to see how the new MD will do things his way and get the momentum going.
