Simpl, a technology company with the mission to make money simple, announced the appointment of Russell Byrne to head the organization’s financial interests and actions. Russell Byrne joined Simpl from Goldman Sachs where he held the title of Managing Director.  

During his career at Goldman Sachs, Byrne co-founded principal financing business within the firm focused on esoteric and illiquid credit opportunities.  In addition to his professional career at Goldman Sachs, Byrne has been an active investor in the fintech space personally since 2014, making both credit and equity investments to early-stage companies.

Byrne is based in San Francisco and splits time in Bangalore where Simpl is located. Byrne holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.
