Recruitment activity to remain positive in FY 19-20: Survey
Replacement hiring is going to be one of the key recruitment activities for most employers going ahead in this fiscal year. Apart from hiring replacements the other key talent acquisition activities would include new hires and providing opportunities for freshers, according to the ‘8th Hiring, Attrition and Compensation Trend 2019-20’ survey by Genius Consultants.
About 58 percent of the employers felt positive about the hiring activities in their organizations while 10 percent of the employers felt that their companies had some layoffs looming closer to home this year.
AI-related skills will be more in demand, especially in the healthcare sector which is expected to generate about 40 percent of the hiring opportunities. Marketing and human resources job roles will also be in higher demand, as the survey pointed out.
Employee retention remains on the top of the priority list for many employers. To that end, companies are investing in reskilling their existing employees, enhancing the workplace, offering more incentives and strategically chalking out the plan for employee welfare schemes.
As far as offering increments in concerned, about 46 percent of the organizations surveyed hope to be able to hand out increments between 10 to 15 percent while 32 percent said that their range would fall between 5 to 10 percent, according to the survey.
Another interesting insights from the survey is that about 67.52 percent of the employers said hiring of women would be affected because of the amendment to the Maternity Benefit Act 1961. Thus, ensuring that women do not lose their jobs during maternity.
