One of India’s largest beverage platforms, Chai Point, is all set to hire around 2000 staffs over the next 20 to 24 months. The company, in association with NGOs and local government bodies, has embarked on a unique initiative to generate job opportunities for the youth living in tier 3 and 4 cities like Ranchi, Patna, Kohima, Bhilai and Amritsar.

Talking about the growth Chai Point is seeing, Amuleek Singh Bijral, Co-founder and CEO of the company, revealed the reason behind the hiring drive. “We are seeing recovery coming back strongly in our walk-in channel and freshly brewed dispensers led office channel. We are also investing by increasing our distributor base and the delivery channel also continues to see strong growth," said Bijral.

He further added, “As all the business channels are seeing a lot of growth, naturally our hiring is also in sync with the growth,” said Bijral. It is important for us that we broaden our hiring pool base to smaller cities instead of competing with other retailers both in F&B and non-F&B for a limited staff pool to hire from.”

Chai Point currently runs over 120 stores in 8 cities in India and is planning to increase its store count by another 100 this year. In addition to this, Chai Point will also be ramping up its internet brands and stores.

Prior to announcing their hiring drive, Chai Point appointed Manmeet Vohra as chief brand and digital officer. She was previously associated with brands like LVMH, Tata Starbucks and Tag Heuer.
