Non-tech companies hiring more IT professionals

The hiring trend in the first half of calendar year 2012, reveal that technology professionals accounted for approximately 31 percent of the total hiring done by non-IT sector. According to a study carried out by MyHiringClub.com for over 1,241 companies across 23 industry verticals, except IT; the total hiring by these companies were 1.18 lakh out of which 36,547 were IT professionals. This is up from 22 per cent in the same period last year. The trend is likely to continue during the second half of the year too. IT hiring was led by verticals like manufacturing, retail, BFSI, FMCG, real estate, telecom and automotive. A large number of non-tech SMEs too have contributed to tech hiring during the year.
