Recruiter sentiment falls in the second half of 2012
A half yearly survey on hiring outlook by online portal Naukri.com has revealed that recruiter sentiment has fallen in the second half of this year. The findings reveal that 62 percent recruiters anticipate new jobs to be created in the second half of 2012 compared to 72 percent at the beginning of the year. 72 percent recruiters said that the scenario of talent crunch has intensified over the last six months. The estimates for new jobs in sectors like IT, construction, banking and pharma have fallen from 81 percent, 64 percent, 61 percent and 67 percent in Jan 2012 to 69 percent, 51 percent, 60 percent and 51 percent respectively in July 2012. A similar survey last year showed that 80 percent recruiters had anticipated addition of new jobs in 2011, which has fallen to 62 percent in the second half of this year. 84 percent recruiters estimated that new jobs will be created for the entry level (1-3 years) and mid level (4-7) categories.
