Senior executives relocating to India

The developed economies are faced with sovereign debt crisis which has had direct implications on the job market. Perhaps to escape this worsening global economic situation, a number of senior executives are returning home to a relatively more stable economy. The findings of executive search firms indicate that there has been a 20 percent increase (as compared to last year) in the number of CEO movements, as persons of Indian origin and NRIs return home.

As companies in India look forward to expand and diversify, they are looking for senior executives to spearhead their diversification and expansion plans. The growing number of senior executives heading home has in fact come at the opportune time. They have a pool of talented people with expertise in diverse fields - IT, automobiles, healthcare, engineering, infrastructure, defence, consumer services, telecom and cargo management to choose from. More importantly not only can the companies benefit from the global experience of the senior executives who are relocating to India, the cost of acquisition will also not pinch the companies as the senior executives are neither insisting on sky high packages nor are demanding any premiums.
