2.5 lakh posts vacant in Indian Railways
Minister of State for Railways, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, stated that over 2.5 lakh positions in the Indian Railways are lying vacant. Northern Railways has the maximum number of vacant positions (28,958) followed by Eastern Railway (24.052). Filling vacancies in the Indian Railways involves notification, holding of examinations, finalization of selection panel, and issue of appointment letters.
