GS1 India appoints S Swaminathan as Chief Operating Officer

GS1 India appoints S Swaminathan as Chief Operating Officer

GS1 India, the global supply chain standard organization, announced the appointment of S Swaminathan as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointment coincided with the retirement of Ravi Mathur from his role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after serving the organization for 22 years. 

S. Swaminathan would now be leading GS1 India with his expertise and rich experience of 28 years across AIDC Industry, enterprise software products, and services in varied responsibilities. He has rich experience of leading customer support, channel development, supply chain management, sales & project management teams for domestic as well as international markets.

He has been associated with GS1 India for the last 10 years and has been heading the Business Development and Industry Engagement departments at GS1 India. Prior to joining GS1 India in 2010, he worked as the Country Manager (Japan & South East Asia) with Newgen Software Technologies Ltd and Country Manager (South Asia) with PSC Inc., USA.

Speaking on the occasion, S. Swaminathan, COO, GS1 India, said, “At GS1 India, we have a huge responsibility to support the Indian Industry, especially in these turbulent times, and enable them to enhance their operational and supply chain efficiencies to remain competent.” 

He further added, “I look forward to leveraging my experience to its best to take the organization towards growth, besides enabling India SMEs to adopt global best practices.”

He also acknowledged Mathur’s contribution to the significant growth that the organization has made in his tenure and said, “his valuable thoughts and decision making have helped GS1 India gain a strong foothold in the Indian industry, and contributed significantly to GS1 Global’s Advisory Council and Management Board.”
