Recession makes work 'meaningful' for executives: Survey

According to a workplace survey conducted by the consultancy firm, McKinsey, despite longer working hours and higher levels of stress due to increased responsibilities, executives are finding their work more exciting and meaningful. In the survey it was found that although many of the employees saw an increase the responsibilities during the downturn without a corresponding increase in related benefits, they were found not complaining. About the high levels of stress associated with work, a large number of employees responded to the survey saying that “they can cope”. The worldwide survey was carried out by the firm included executives from those at the top to senior and middle levels.
