Sanofi India names new CFO

Pharmaceutical company Sanofi India Limited announced the appointment of Vaibhav Karandikar of as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as per a filing with the bourses.

The company filing stated, “We would like to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting has approved the appointment of Mr. Vaibhav Karandikar as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel with effect from 6th October 2020.”

The new CFO is not related to any of the Directors of the Company.

With almost 25 years of experience across various domains in finance, Karandikar joined Sanofi in April 2007 in Accounting & Taxation function, subsequently of which he became the Head. In his most recent assignment, he worked as Head of Controlling for the General Medicines Business (including Consumer Healthcare). He supported the Global Support Function activities, Intra-Group Export, and Intra-Group services. Of these, he has been part of several key assignments including mergers, acquisitions, divestures as well as goods and services (GST) transition.

Prior to joining Sanofi, Karandikar worked as Senior Manager - Finance & Company Secretary - Sandoz India. He has also had stints at Aventis Pharma Limited, Tata Power Company Limited and Hindustan Ciba Geigy respectively. With his elevation, the pharma major is hoping to leverage his vast experience of over more than two decades.
